Smartfish AI Site Doctor
Installation and User Guide

Install the Free and PRO packages, activate your license, run a health scan, and complete controlled repairs with confidence.

Version 1.0.0WordPress 6.5+PHP 7.4+Last updated: August 2026

1. Requirements

  • WordPress 6.5 or newer.
  • PHP 7.4 or newer.
  • An administrator account with permission to install plugins.
  • HTTPS and outbound access to en.smartfish.co.il for license validation and secure updates.
Optional integrations: WooCommerce, Elementor and Yoast SEO are not required. Their checks appear automatically when those plugins are active.

2. Installation

Install the Free package

  1. Download smartfish-ai-site-doctor.zip.
  2. In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add Plugin → Upload Plugin.
  3. Select the ZIP file, choose Install Now, and then Activate.
  4. Open Site Doctor in the WordPress admin menu.

Add PRO

  1. Download smartfish-ai-site-doctor-pro.zip from your order or account.
  2. Upload and activate it the same way.
  3. Keep the Free plugin active. PRO is an add-on that extends the Free dashboard.
Important: Do not extract the packages and merge their folders. Install both ZIP files as separate plugins.

3. Activate the PRO license

  1. Copy the license key from your Smartfish order email or account.
  2. Go to Site Doctor → License.
  3. Paste the key and select Activate License.
  4. Confirm that the status is Active and the expiration date is correct.

The annual €29 plan covers one WordPress site. To move the license, deactivate it on the original site first and then activate it on the new site.

The key is encrypted before it is stored in WordPress. It is sent only over HTTPS to the Smartfish license service.

4. Run your first scan

  1. Open Site Doctor → Scan.
  2. Choose a full scan, or select only the categories relevant to your task.
  3. Start the scan and keep the tab open until the summary appears.
  4. Review critical findings first, then warnings and informational results.

A scan reads site state and stores a redacted diagnostic snapshot. It does not execute any repair.

5. Read the findings

CriticalLikely to affect availability, checkout, scheduled processing or data integrity.
WarningNeeds review, but may be intentional in your environment.
HealthyThe check completed and no action is currently recommended.
InformationalContext that can help with maintenance planning.

Open a finding to see its evidence, recommendation, source check and any compatible repair. Evidence is intentionally minimized and redacted.

6. Use controlled repairs

  1. Open a finding that offers a repair.
  2. Select Preview repair.
  3. Review the affected items, expected result and risk level.
  4. Create a fresh backup when the preview recommends one.
  5. Select Confirm and run.
  6. Run the related check again and review the audit record.
Do not reuse an old preview. Confirmation tokens are short-lived and single-use. If site state changes, open a new preview before proceeding.

Risk levels

LevelMeaningRecommended practice
LowCache refresh or similarly reversible maintenance.Preview, run, and verify.
MediumChanges stored data or site configuration.Back up and test the affected workflow.
HighPotentially destructive or broad database impact.Use staging first and keep a verified backup.

7. PRO checks and repairs

PRO adds deeper diagnostics and tools for the common WordPress commerce stack.

WooCommercePages, caches, lookup tables, logs and store-specific health indicators.
ElementorGenerated data and cache regeneration workflows.
Yoast SEOSEO cache checks, social-image configuration and search visibility context.
Action SchedulerFailed, pending and stuck background actions with controlled retry or cancellation.
DatabaseTable status, autoload analysis and optimization previews.
Change riskUpdate-risk context, critical error correlation and scan comparison.

8. Scheduling, email and reports

  1. Open the Site Doctor settings.
  2. Enable scheduled scans and choose the required frequency.
  3. Select the recipient address for the summary.
  4. Save the settings and confirm the next scheduled run.

Use reports and scan comparison to track whether findings are new, persistent or resolved. Email summaries contain a concise status overview and direct you back to the protected WordPress dashboard for full evidence.

9. Automatic updates

When the PRO license is active, WordPress checks the Smartfish update service and displays new PRO versions on the normal Plugins screen. The update package is delivered through a license-gated download URL.

  1. Keep both Free and PRO active.
  2. Make a backup before a major update.
  3. Use the standard WordPress Update now action.
  4. Run a new scan after updating.

The Free package can always be downloaded from the product page. PRO downloads and updates require a valid license.

10. Troubleshooting

IssueWhat to check
PRO menu or tools are missingConfirm that both Free and PRO are installed and active.
License activation failsCheck the key, HTTPS, outbound requests and that the license is not active on another site.
A scan cannot completeCheck PHP memory, REST API access, loopback requests and the Site Doctor log context.
A repair preview expiredOpen the finding and create a new preview; this is expected safety behavior.
An update is unavailableConfirm the license is active, then refresh the WordPress updates screen.
If you contact support, include the Site Doctor version, WordPress version, PHP version, the finding ID and the visible error message. Do not send passwords or private keys.

11. Privacy and safety

  • Diagnostic evidence is stored in your own WordPress database.
  • Sensitive keys, bearer tokens, email addresses and filesystem paths are redacted.
  • PRO license keys are encrypted at rest.
  • Repairs require a capability check, a fresh preview and explicit confirmation.
  • Every repair attempt creates an audit record.

Site Doctor is a maintenance aid, not a substitute for current backups, staging tests or professional incident response.

12. Support

Customers with an active annual license receive updates and product support from Smartfish. Include reproducible steps and the non-sensitive diagnostic context described above.
